Five Cities Optimist Annual Chinese Auction and Salad Luncheon
The Five Cities Optimist's annual Chinese Auction and Salad Luncheon proceeds are used to fund the dreams and goals of our local youth. We fund students to go to Science Camp, Boy/Girl Scouting, individual scholastic projects, assist with student field trip fees, school club fees, and other philanthropic projects associated with kids.
Tickets are $10 per person in advance, and $15 at the door. Admission includes a salad bar lunch, auction paddle, and the thrill of the hunt! This is a family event and kids are always excited to participate.
So just what is a Chinese Auction?
Included in your $10 pre-sale admission, is an auction paddle with a number on it. When the auction starts a prize is described and you choose if you want to try and win that prize by putting one quarter (that's right 25 cents) into a basket on your table. You hold your paddle up and numbers are drawn out of a bingo hopper. The first person with the corresponding paddle number wins! If you aren't particularly interested in an item, then you can enjoy the fun watching who will win.
And yes, you can buy more than one paddle to increase your chances! Just think you can win golf packages, wine, spa packages, restaurant gift cards, car wash packages, jewelry, art (and lots of other things you probably wouldn't buy for yourself) for just 25 cents and there are 2 plus hours of prizes to give away!
This is a fun and inexpensive way to get some of your Christmas shopping done early!
