2017 WCCDA Annual Fundraising Dinner & Auction 15 Years of Woke
On behalf of the White Center Community Development Association (WCCDA), a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization we are respectfully requesting to join us at our 15th Annual Fundraiser Dinner & Auction on Friday, September 22, 2017. This years theme will be 15 Years of Woke which celebrates the history of the CDA and strength of place in our community of White Center over the years. Since our inception, we have been part of an amazing journey and we know we have grown in a real way because of the relationships we have built with residents, community groups, youth, businesses and the many partners who have been part of White Centers path in creating a strong community, one day at a time!
This year, we are highlighting our dinner with a keynote address from Hawaiis Attorney General Douglas S. Chin. He will share remarks pertaining to his work not only on the immigration legislation, but also speak to the importance of communities working together with systems and local government to keep each other safe from harm to stop marginalization of communities of color as a result of laws and policies that may continue to perpetuate oppression and racism in all its forms. This topic is extremely pertinent to White Center and welcomes his comments to our amazing community.
The dinner will be held at South Seattle College/Brockey Center, with live music performances from PeaceMaker Nation along with a delicious dinner and refreshments! With your support, proceeds from our event will allow us to continue another 15 years in sustaining a bold, innovative and results driven organization committed to economic and social change for all our residents and families! Our programming and services through our White Center Promise theory of change continue to take place in the following focus areas: Family Development, Neighborhood Revitalization, Community Building and Data.
Please feel free to visit our website for more details about our work and like us on Facebook.
See you at the dinner!
Sincerely, Sili SavusaPat Thompson Executive Director Board President
