Avon Dale
Join us for a great show 6/30/17 with Avon Dale
Avon Dale is a Memphis based, rootsy rock band with a touch of soul. The four piece band features a dynamic rhythm section, blues inspired electric guitar riffs, and soulful vocals. This powerful live act combines to create melodically rich songs that range from tender and plaintive to gritty and beseeching. With a raw energetic presence, the band is quickly gaining a following and is becoming a Memphis must see act.
The band originated in the cornfields of the Midwest in their college town of Champaign-Urbana. After only a few months from their formation, the band relocated to Memphis, TN the birthplace of rock and roll and the home of the blues. Avon Dale has hit the road hard over the past three years including two summer tours and has been featured in numerous festivals across the Midwest. They released their debut EP Dress It Up recorded at Ardent studios with sound engineer Mike Wilson, in November of 2014. The EP received critical praise and provided the band a framework to tour successfully.
Most recently, the band has had a lineup change with founding member and acoustic guitarist Matt McCarter leaving the band. The band embraced the change with a farewell tour for the last original lineup of Avon Dale. The tour was dubbed Macs Last Dance and featured three cities closest to the bands heart: Champaign, Chicago, and Memphis. Matt will truly be missed but Avon Dale will play on with the addition of a new guitarist and release of a second EP in the fall of 2016. The boys spent the winter of 2015 and spring of 2016 working with Ardent Studios Mike Wilson and musician/producer Rickey Shelton creating a repertoire of new songs that will culminate to create a musical milestone for the group. That EP, Little Ditty, was released October 7!
