Pacific Chamber Symphony: Baroque and Jazz; Mill Valley
We welcome for our March concert set Mike Marshall, international superstar Mandolinist. He will perform with PCS his own Concerto for Mandolin as wells as a Baroque concerto. "Whether playing bluegrass with Edgar Meyer, Bela Fleck or Chris Thile, Brazilian choro music with Hamilton de Holanda, Jazz with the Montreux Band or Baroque classical with German mandolinist Caterina Lichenberg, Mike is able to swing gracefully between all of these musical styles with a unique blend of virtuosity, depth and musical integrity that is rare in the cross cultural musical world of today. On the program also, PCS performs beloved Telemann's Don Quixote Suite with sections read from the famous tale.
