From Debra & Neil
Here in the West we live in a domesticated world which determines what we do, how to behave, live, even how we define ourselves. But in the high Andes life is much closer to the edge and there is a name for all that is wild & undomesticated: Salka. Salka is the natural, free energy of life, it is what makes us feel alive and part of the living Cosmos. Our domestication is a thin veneer through which the light of Salka still shines through.
This experiential workshop will be held in the beautiful, welcoming and wild Gathering Fields, by the Forest of Bowland near Lancaster. It is led by Oakley Gordon, Professor of Psychology at Utah University who has over twenty years experience of training and teaching the Salka path of the Q'ero. He will take us deep into some of the simple, yet profound practices which can re-awaken our own Salka nature. We will connect through guided meditations with the living energies of the hills, woodlands, wind, rivers and sky. Learn to:
- connect with the elements in nature
- exchange energy with living beings
- expand beyond your accustomed boundaries
- and more!
Oakley will help us create a bridge between our experiences of Salka energies and the worlds we inhabit on a daily basis at home, at work and wherever we find ourselves as beings in the Cosmos. It is open to all regardless of experience: whether you have been on a shamanistic path for years or are only just encountering nature spirituality, you will find plenty of inspiration, guidance and direct experience.
Bring/wear clothes suitable for the weather and the outdoors, and some lunch to share. Also your notebook and pen, water bottle and a small offering for nature. Cost for the day is £90, but get your skates on and snap up an Early Bird for just £75 before 30th June.
This workshop is promoted and managed by Neil Brocklehurst and Debra Delglyn, initiates and practitioners of the Inka way in Manchester and surrounds. Do contact either one of us if you have any questions.
