Breaking Bread w/ HenHouse Brewing and Mamacitas Cafe
You are cordially invited to the second edition of the Hog's Apothecary's dinner series Breaking Bread. Each dinner features a different local brewery and a local non-profit organization.
Join us on Sunday, May 28th as we celebrate Oakland community with HenHouse Brewing and Mamacitas Cafe. Our sous-chef, Daniel Sotelo, has created a gorgeous and locally-sourced three course menu inspired by both Levantine and Maghrebi cuisine, matching wonderfully with HenHouse's simple but elegant ales.
HenHouse Brewing is based in Santa Rosa. We have served their masterful beers at Hog's since we opened, and we are excited to put them in the spotlight.
10% of the proceeds will be going to Mamacita's Cafe, an Oakland-based pop-up cafe dedicated to providing and expanding employment and leadership opportunities for young women of color. Mamacitas will set up a laptop at the dinner for those who wish to contribute more to their kickstarter.
You will get a chance to meet the beautiful people behind both HenHouse Brewing and Mamacitas Cafe.

Welcome Beer
"Stoked On Simcoe," Single Hop (Simcoe) Pale Ale
Starter:
Housemade Laffa, charred eggplant, beets & tahini, hummus & ground lamb, nuka pickles
Paired w/ "HenHouse Saison," Farmhouse Style Ale with Spices
Main:
Whole grilled Boston Mackerel, with ajo blanco, preserved orange, arugula, shaved fennel, almond
Paired w/ "Dubularity," Abbey Style Dubbel
Dessert:
Rosewater Malabi, with fresh Mango
Paired w/ "East Coast Bias," North East Style Double IPA

The Hog's Apothecary:
We take great pride in using the bounty and beasts of farmers and brewers who employ only the highest standards of sustainability. Our menu features a regular selection of entirely house-butchered porcine delights and farm-direct produce that ideally complement our unique and meticulously curated local draft selection.
HenHouse Brewing:
Founded in 2011, we crank out awesome beers 30 barrels at a time in uncompromising and fearless pursuit of our goal: creating new and interesting kinds of delicious. HenHouse is the work of our hands, hearts and brains and we hope you enjoy the beer as much as we enjoy making it.

Mamacitas Cafe
Our mission is to create fair wage jobs, specifically for young women of color ages 18-24, and to expand employment and leadership opportunities for youth in transition from the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.
