Noel Strazza & Pablo Puglise Tango Workshops in NYC

THE ESSENTIALS
In this class, designed for dancers of all levels, Pablo and Noel will teach some of the technical foundations that make a strong dancer. Balance, posture, and ease of movement, as well as filling the gaps in your learning, to give you a better understanding of the dance. We will work on walking, abrazo and connection, spirals... people love these classes!
This is the first of 5 workshops offered by Pablo & Noel from May 19-21.
This is the only one of the 5 that will take place at Chelsea Studios; the others will be at Stepping Out.

WALKING PATTERNS FROM THE PAST
Learn some of the walking combinations and details that were passed down through generations of dancers, their style and "cadencia." With their vast experience and exposure to the real source of these moves, Pablo and Noel will share them with you topped up with their own tricks and updates.
This is the second of 5 workshops offered by Pablo & Noel from May 19-21.
This will take place at Stepping Out Studios.

SPICE UP OCHOS
With and against, in place or traveled, embellished or simple, come to discover the multiple possibilities that front and back changes of directions (ochos) can give you for a more creative dance made of simple elements.

TANGO DYNAMICS AND FLOW
In this class Pablo and Noel will place priority on "how to do" over the "what to do" from an interpretative and stylistic perspective. Known for their connection, flow and strong dynamics, through the analysis of movement patterns they will help you understand how to stretch the range of your movement and improvisation.
This is the fourth of 5 workshops offered by Pablo & Noel from May 19-21.

LINKING SACADAS
(combinations of Sacadas for leaders and followers)
In this class Pablo and Noel will work on technique and proper execution of sacadas for leaders and followers, how to combine them and make them flow in an effortless way.
This is the fifth of 5 workshops offered by Pablo & Noel from May 19-21.
This will take place at Stepping Out Studios.
ABOUT PABLO & NOEL
Pablo Pugliese & Noel Strazza are at home in traditional Tango as well as in contemporary dance.
As the son of the famous tango dancers Esther & Mingo Pugliese, Pablo Pugliese has known the milongas in Buenos Aires, the codes, the technique and the refinements of tango since childhood. He started teaching Argentine Tango abroad with his mother when he was 15 years old. At fourteen, Pablo won the Gold Medal in the Torneos Juveniles Bonaerences Championship organized by the Ministry of Government and Justice in Buenos Aires.
As a young man he moved to New York to the Mecca of modern dance where he had received a full scholarship to attend the Alvin Ailey School. Pablo soon became known as an innovative choreographer and dancer, especially in the tango scene. He has since gone on to perform and teach master classes in cities across the United States and around the world, including: Tokyo, Paris, Madrid, Berlin and Hamburg.
Pablo has been a dancer and choreographer for many shows. He was the Tango choreography advisor for Compania Tango Express under the direction of Claudio Hoffman and Pilar Alvarez and the musical direction of Daniel Binelli. Pablo has shared the stage with the renowned Tango musicians and composers Hector Del Curto and Fernando Otero.
Noel Strazza was born in Buenos Aires and studied contemporary dance at the Taller de Danza Contemporanea at the Teatro San Martin. She worked with Oscar Araiz as a dancer and co-choreographer. Noel has been dancing and teaching tango since 1997. With Pablo Veron, who was her partner, she toured through Europe, Asia, Australia and the USA.
Noel & Pablo have been working together since 2006, they have been performing and teaching in the most prestigious Tango festivals around Europe and United States, they founded their own dance company Extempore Danse, presenting their contemporary tango pieces in Buenos Aires, Montreal, Basel and Dusseldorf. They continue their teaching carrier, imparting master classes in different cities around the world.
