CHALKFEST 2017
Downtown Wausau will once again become transformed with colorful pastel drawings for the 14th annual sidewalk art festival. This community event is for artists of all ages and levels of ability to participate in and for art enthusiasts to observe and enjoy. Last year thousands of spectators and hundreds of artist converged on the 400 Block for this fun event!

ChalkFest will be held Saturday, July 15 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Wausau. A reception and award ceremony for participating artists will take place after the event on Sunday.

Cost to participate is $22. The registration fee includes a box of 48 pastels, blending sponges and an assigned space. Pre-registration is required. Chalk spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis. Participants must be 12 years old for a reserved space.

Children 11 and under are encouraged to explore their artistic talents by creating their own chalk drawing from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday, during the festival.

CHILDREN'S CHALKFEST SCHEDULE:
Saturday, July 15, 9am - 5pm and Sunday, July 16, 10am  4pm

Kids under 12 can explore their artistic talents with two options. No registration required.
   Option 1 - For $3 you get a box of colored chalk and the use of a small chalkboard
   Option 2 - For $10 you get a set of 12 pastels and a sheet of paper you can take home
