Tacoma Singing Society, South Sound Youth Choir, Tacoma Ringing Society and special guest artist, pianist Jinshil Yi present a concert carefully woven with threads of inspiration, exhilaration, absurdity and joy.
In honor of the Festival of Sail, we'll present a boatload of seafaring songs. We'll also explore our playful side with a set of stuff and nonsense, featuring the poetry of Lewis Carroll, among other things.
"The time has come," the Walrus said, "To talk of many things: Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax-- Of cabbages--and kings-- And why the sea is boiling hot-- And whether pigs have wings."
Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
Excerpt from "The Walrus and The Carpenter" by Lewis Carroll (from Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, 1872)
