"Ninshaba in a fever dreams that the mother she has never known is Queen - and is determined to prove the dream true."
A simple story, yes. But Ziggurat Theatre Ensemble specializes in telling simple stories in unusual ways.
The hero of the story the girl Ninshaba sets out to prove her dream a reality. Her journey is a dream in itself, peopled with fantastical beings: A crone lugging a mysterious cargo, a rat-headed emissary, an absurd Sultan, a feral vagabond and an enigmatic goddess all inhabit the world of Ninshaba.
The story is told, simply and powerfully, through the heightened physicality for which Ziggurat is renowned.
