Show Style: Vocal Group / Musical Variety, Classical to Contemporary
In honour of Canadas 150 Anniversary, Opera da Camera is bringing their new original work Departures and Arrivals: A Journey to Canada to the Royal Theatre.
The audience will meet travellers who have been displaced from their own country, be it by choice or by social or political circumstance. Discover their feelings of homesickness, longing, hope, and acceptance as the characters integrate into the heritage of their new society.
Be charmed by classics like Bernsteins Somewhere and America; feel the longing for home in Strausss Klange der Heimat and the Neapolitan song, Torna a Surriento; and discover North American heritage in familiar folk songs.
