Show Style: One-Woman Dramatic Cabaret
The show was developed to commemorate the contribution of Canadian women to the efforts of the Second World War, while also celebrating Canadian women in today's society. In this original piece, Mélanie presents slice-of-life stories told through a selection of original texts with songs from the repertoire of the 40s and other songs echoing this significant period in our modern history. Melanie is able to transmit her passion for these moments of history, and for her love of singing, to audiences of all ages. She uses song as the universal language allowing her to pay homage to all these women, mothers, wives, sisters, friends, who have contributed on the home-front or at in active-duty to the efforts of what was to be the last of the great wars.
Le spectacle fut développé afin de commémorer la contribution des femmes canadiennes aux efforts de la Deuxième Guerre mondiale et d'aujourd'hui.
Mélanie présente à sa façon des tableaux d'histoires racontées à l'aide d'une sélection de textes originaux ayant comme fil conducteur des chansons tirées du répertoire des années 40 et d'autres chansons faisant écho à cette période significative de notre histoire moderne.
Mélanie est capable de transmettre sa passion pour ces moments de l'histoire, pour son amour du chant, à tout public, des plus jeunes au plus vieux. Le chant pour elle, étant le langage universel qui lui permet de rendre hommage à toutes ces femmes, ces mères, épouses, soeurs, amies, qui ont contribuer de près ou à distance aux efforts de ce qui devait être la dernière des grandes guerres.
