Live at Var Gallery and Studio, we present an evening of stand up comedy with Alia Janine and Sovereign Syre. All the way from New York City, they will take the stage and regale us with their stories and experiences from the road and beyond in a beautiful art gallery with work from of the area's best emerging artsist.

About your performers:
Alia Janine dubbed the Funniest Porn-Star on Earth! by the Huffington Post, and 2015 AVN Mainstream Star of the Year nominee, retired from adult entertainment in 2012, and in 2013 she moved to New York City to pursue a career in comedy. Since her switch in careers, Alia has performed in some of the countrys best comedy clubs including; The Comedy Store, LA Improv, UCB, The Stand, The Village Underground, New York Comedy Club, Chicago Laugh Factory, Stand Up NY, Gotham Comedy Club, and multiple Funny Bone Clubs. She has had the privilege of performing with some of todays hottest comedians like; Dave Attell, Big Jay Oakerson, Dan Soder, Michael Che, Adrienne Iapalucci, and Jay Pharoah. Alia also has a growing resume of voice-over work, comedy sketches, and independent films. Alia has delighted her fans by appearing on many popular national radio shows including Sirius XMs Sway in the Morning, The Jason Ellis Show, Derek and Romaine, and My Wife Hates Me with comedians Rich Vos and Bonnie MacFarlane. Likewise, she has had multiple appearances on many popular podcasts including; The Legion of Skanks, the Anthony Cumia Show, YKWD with Robert Kelly, The Artie Lang Podcast, and The SDR Show. She has been featured on RT TV, CBS, FOX, The Village Voice, Vice, Huffington Post, The Daily Dot, The New York Post, and favorite comedy websites Laugh Spin and The Interrobang. Alia, along with fellow comedian, Jaqi Furback hosts the highly ranked Whormones Podcast on the Misfits Network, where they discuss different point-of-views on sexuality and feminism.
Sovereign Syre is an art model turned adult film star turned writer and comedian. She wrote, produced and stars in Boss Bitches of History on the Wisecrack Network on Youtube. She also hosts the OBSERVATIONS podcast where she's interviewed the likes of Kyle Kinane, Sara Schaefer and Dave Foley, while she has been a guest on popular podcasts such as Wil Andersons Wilosophy, The SDR Show, and Nice Advice with Chuck Nice. Sovereign has also been featured in the Huffington Post, Motherboard, XO Jane, and Mother Jones. She's performed at nationally known clubs such as The Comedy Store, The Ice House, The Stand, and The New York Comedy Club. She co- hosts the Cobra Juice Comedy Variety Show monthly at the Steve Allen Theater/Trepany House, and has opened for Marc Maron. She also writes a weekly column at The Filthy. Josh Ballew is a comedian, writer, and producer originally from Milwaukee, WI. In addition to performing standup Ballew is a writer for the Chicago-based satirical publication, The Whiskey Journal, and co-produces the Sugar Maple Comedy Showcase. Ballew has performed at a variety of venues across the Midwest including Milwaukee's Comedy Cafe, Zanies in Rosemont, and The WIP Theater in Chicago.
