A Literary Evening with Award-Winning Authors Dorothy Allison and Karen Joy Fowler
Saturday, December 1, 2012 5:00-7:00 p.m. Program begins at 5:30. Hotel Rex, 562 Sutter Street (between Mason and Powell), San Francisco Admission $15 advance/$20 at door. All proceeds go to Hedgebrook.
Join award-winning authors Dorothy Allison and Karen Joy Fowler for a reception and evening of literary conversation. Light refreshments will be served and a no-host bar is available. The event is a fundraiser for Hedgebrook.
*** Hailed as "one of the finest writers of her generation" by the Boston Globe, Dorothy Allison's best-selling novel Bastard Out of Carolina was a finalist for the 1992 National Book Award, won the Ferro Grumley prize, an ALA Award for Lesbian and Gay Writing, and became an award-winning movie. It has been translated into more than a dozen languages. Her novel Cavedweller was a New York Times Notable Book and was adapted for the stage and the screen.
