Wagtime: A Centennial Soiree
Raise your glass to 100 years of Worcester Animal Rescue League [WARL], the largest animal shelter in Central Massachusetts, on Friday, November 2, 7-10 p.m., at the Worcester Historical Museum, 30 Elm Street, Worcester. Enjoy dancing to live music by two-time Entertainer of the Year Dale LePage and The Manhattans, as well as fabulous auction items up for bid, cash bar and sumptuous hors d'oeuvres. WCVB-TV newscaster and animal welfare activist Randy Price is the guest emcee for the night. Your $50 ticket includes all gala activities, as well as admission to the museum galleries, an auction paddle to bid on available items, and a ticket for the evening's signature cocktail: The Orange Tabby.

Proceeds from the 21+ event benefit the no-kill, limited-intake, non-profit shelter, which serves the City of Worcester and its surrounding communities, as well as towns outside of Worcester County.

About WARL: Founded in 1912 by a group of women determined to save overworked and abused farm horses, WARL continues this legacy of love for animals. As a no-kill, private, non-profit organization that does not receive any county, state, or federal funding, WARL relies heavily on the generosity of donors and volunteers. The facility annually assists more than 2,500 cats, dogs, kittens and puppies in the 17 communities surrounding Worcester, MA. Now the largest animal shelter in Central Massachusetts, WARL is a limited-intake shelter, accepting pets only when enough kennel space is available; it does not believe in time or space limits for adoptable pets, and uses every resource available to place each one. Today, WARL is led by Executive Director Allie Tellier and a staff of 16. In April 2012, WARL celebrated 100 years of serving the homeless pets of Worcester County. Located at 139 Holden Street in Worcester, WARL is open daily from noon to 4 PM. Visit www.worcester-arl.org, WARL's Facebook page, or call (508)853-0030.
