The Golden Penis
Cloudsway Dance Theatre is set to debut with a bang: The Golden Penis is a highly physical new piece examining the male dominated structures of power and privilege April 13-16, 2017 at Calgarys West Village Theatre. The performance weaves story, myth, and lived experience to provide a male outlook on contemporary masculinity.

Come find out what this means for contemporary males. After years of training with One Yellow Rabbit, Mark Kunji Ikeda cultivates the next generation of physically demanding, sensually charged physical theatre to Calgary.
Using equal parts sensitivity and fearlessness to unravel some of the myths, ideologies, and practices of being part of the patriarchy.

Mark Kunji Ikeda is an award-winning playwright and choreographer. Ikeda creates original performances that combine narrative and dance. His training in dance and theatre has developed a unique methodology combining story, imagination, and choreography that has lead to being named the 2015 Emerging Artist by Calgary Arts Development Authority. He has trained extensively with Denise Clarke of One Yellow Rabbit and is currently taking down the patriarchy with the upcoming show The Golden Penis (April 2017).
Dramaturgy by Christopher Duthie
Christopher Duthie is an actor, theatre creator, and playwright currently pursuing his MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Guelph. He is the playwright/performer of n00b which toured Canada with the Y-Stage Series at Vertigo Theatre, and the co-creator/ performer of Verb Theatres Of Fighting Age which was presented at the 2013 High Performance Rodeo. The Golden Penis is his first venture into dance dramaturgy, and it is a continuation of his search for effective methods of marrying text and movement to create exciting, provocative and challenging theatrical experiences for diverse audiences.
