J&S Mole Dinner Featuring Videri Chocolate Factory!
Hey y'all, join us for our first ever Videri Chocolate Mole Dinner coming up March 21st!
Mole (Moh-Lay) is a wonderfully complex sauce with origins throughout Mexico. It varies by region and by the hands preparing them in households around the country -- often with recipes passed through multiple generations. In many cases, the bittersweetness of chocolate is found in mole recipes and we are excited to collaborate with our chocolatier neighbors in order to showcase the quality of their amazing chocolate and cocoa nibs in the rich, diverse flavors of Mole.
Chef Oscar will be preparing a three course meal for guests with Videri cocoa nib moles being featured in each bite. We hope you will join us! Tickets are $35/Per Person with a quarter of all proceeds being donated to the NC Justice Center.
Current menu plans involve one vegetarian mole course, one non-vegetarian mole course, and a mole dessert course.
**In keeping with traditional mole ingredients, there WILL BE elements of nuts and gluten in the moles which we will not be able to modify due to their time-intensive preparations.**
Here's a little more info on Videri's chocolate making practices and why we're so excited to team up with our neighbors for this dinner:
The story of our bean-to-bar chocolate begins on a handful of lush cacao plantations located throughout Central and South America. We purchase select beans from across these regions based on pricing and availability, with a commitment to achieving fair-trade and organic status whenever possible. We use the finest organic cocoa beans, cocoa butter, and organic sugar available. No soy lecithin, no xanthan gum, no emulsifiers or artificial flavorings. Just whole, organic and fair-trade ingredients.
