The Gershwins in Hollywood
The Gershwins in Hollywood
In August of 1936, George and Ira Gershwin arrived in Hollywood to write two Fred Astaire movie musicals, Shall We Dance and A Damsel in Distress, plus a third picture, The Goldwyn Follies. Little did they know it would be the last year of Georges life. Charles Troys multimedia presentation will tell the whole shocking story of this fateful twelve months, interspersed and leavened with abundant video clips of the numbers from the two Fred Astaire classics, and live performances by two top Chicago cabaret performers, Jeff Dean and Bob Moreen.
