Winemaker Salon with Toby Bainbridge and Chad Hinds, Methode Sauvage
The Vinguard Winemaker Salon with Toby Bainbridge, Bainbridge and Chad Hinds, Methode Sauvage Wednesday, February 15, 2017 Fox and Lion Bread Company
We are importing our next featured winemaker, Toby Bainbridge, for the next winemaker salon. A Brit living in the Loire Valley, Toby worked under Didier Charffardon and Renee Mosse before going out on his own. In 2007, he purchased a Grolleau vineyard and hasnt looked back. He works biodynamically and is a member of Renaissance des Appellations. In the last ten years, hes become a highly respected winemaker in Anjou, known for his delicious Grolleau, Rouges Aux Levres, and other cuvees made from Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc. He will lead off the salon with a discussion about his journey and how the Loire is changing.
Then, Chad Hinds, of Methode Sauvage, one of Californias natural wine rising stars, is joining him. Hinds is also Cab Franc and Chenin Blanc focused so the conversation will turn to the differences between working with these grapes in the Loire Valley vs. California, how their methods differ and whatever else they feel like talking about.
