Complying with Cal-OSHA Standards for Exposure to Silica Presented by Jim Persons Health & Safety Consultant, Safety Pride
This interactive presentation will cover all aspects of the Cal-OSHA Silica Dust Exposure Regulation as it applies to the use of powered tools or equipment to cut, grind, core, or drill concrete or masonry materials.
Jim will review all elements of the Silica Dust Exposure Regulation including: * Hazard Identification * Employee Training * Engineering Controls * Personal Protective Equipment * Record Keeping * Spill and Disposal Procedures RERA members will receive a current Silica Dust Exposure Control Program for their respective safety programs.
About Jim Persons: Jim is a private safety consultant and has operated his own business (Safety Pride) for the past twenty five years. He has served in the position of Safety Manager for over ten years for Western Water Constructors, a general engineering contractor in Santa Rosa. He has conducted safety training seminars for utility companies, water agencies, construction businesses, painting contractors, wineries and municipalities throughout California. In addition, Jim is a member of several major construction agencies and associations including - the Golden Gate Chapter of the National Safety Management Society, the International Society for Fall Protection, The Northern California Engineering Contractors Association, and in 2017 Safety Instructor for the North Bay Construction Corps.
