AFP Luncheon, February 2017
Looking for ways to progress in your nonprofit career, improve your performance, and strengthen the capabilities of your team? Patton McDowells program will focus on four keys to professional development and advancement in the nonprofit sector. Learn the elements of an effective personal strategic plan as well as the ten key skills and experiences on which you should focus for a successful career in fundraising and nonprofit management.

Presentation Objectives:

Leave with a plan of action

Patton McDowell, MBA, CFRE, is the president of PMA Consulting LLC. Patton has spent his entire career in fundraising and nonprofit leadership.  He started his consulting practice in 2009, and his firm has worked with over 160 organizations in the Carolinas.

Before starting PMA Consulting, he spent a decade in higher education as Vice President for Advancement at Queens University, after serving in the same role at UNC Wilmington, where he was the youngest vice chancellor in the UNC system.  

Prior to his tenure in higher education, he worked as the state Program Director for Special Olympics North Carolina (Raleigh, NC), and as an Assistant for Education & Training for Special Olympics International in Washington D.C.

Patton is a native of Elizabeth City, NC, and received a BA in English Education from UNC Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar. He received his MBA from the McColl School of Business at Queens, and is pursuing a doctorate in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California.  


PLEASE NOTE: Location for this meeting is at the Marriott Greenville, 1 Parkway E. in Greenville, next to the Michelin North America Headquarters.  Thornblade is undergoing renovations.  We will return to Thornblade for our April meeting.

This luncheon has been approved for 1 Hour of Non Fundraising Related CFRE Continuing Education points. Non Fundraising Related courses may be applied to the 10 point maximum of NFR points on the initial certification application or 5 points maximum on the recertification application.
