We leave our footprints everywhere - in the mud, in the snow, on the sand at the beach and on the street. We can also leave our FOOTPRINTS on the dance floor! Join Karen Chapman, certified 5Rhythms teacher from Asheville, NC, for a one day workshop on Feb. 26, 2017 - FOOTPRINTS OF LOVE!
In this one day workshop, we will explore leaving our footprints of love for one another, for ourselves and for Humanity. Through the 5rhythms of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness, we will co-create a sacred space for creative expression, sharing what blocks us from loving as well as what liberates us into movement!
Come and be curious, be open and be ready to move as we make our FOOTPRINTS OF LOVE on the dance floor! During this workshop, we will be exploring multiple forms of self expression including collaging, journal work, partner and group sharing in addition to our dance practice. No formal art or dance experience required, everyone is welcome.
Please bring plenty of water, lunch/snacks or you can go out for food. Please be mindful of the time in your planning as we will have a one hour break for lunch in the middle of the day before we dive right back into the workshop.
In addition, please bring a glue stick, scissors, markers, color pencils and pen/pencil for writing. Wear dance shoes if needed, otherwise we dance barefoot. This is a cell phone free zone and we will begin right on time, so arrive early!

Gabrielle Roths 5Rhythms is a dynamic movement practicea practice of being in your bodythat ignites creativity, connection, and community. While a seemingly simple process, the 5Rhythms practice facilitates deep and unending explorations, moving the dancer beyond self-imposed limitations and isolation into new depths of creativity and connection.
When we practice 5Rhythms, we learn to creatively express aggressiveness and vulnerability, emotions and anxieties, edges and ecstasies. It reconnects us to cycles of birth & death and hooks us into humanity and the spirit of all living things. Within the group context we create connection and community and hone our instincts and our intuitions. We are made up of all walks of life every culture, religion, race, gender, age and sexual preference are welcome.
5Rhythms transcends dance. The movement is the medicine, the meditation and the metaphor. Together we peel back layers, lay masks down, and dance till we disappearOnly to rediscover ourselves through it all.
