2017 EWB Video Game Championships
It's that time of the year again! The 2017 EWB Video Game Championships are being held Saturday April 8th! For this year's event, entrants will begin by competing in Mario Kart 8. The Top 16 competitors from the Mario Kart round will move on to compete in challenges from various other Nintendo games to try to advance to the finals of the event! The winner of the event this year will receive a new Nintendo Switch! 2nd place will receive a $100 Visa Gift Card, and 3rd place will receive a $25 gift card to G2K Games and a copy of Fairy Fencer F Advent Dark Force Limited Edition (for PS4). Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 finishers as well.
Tournament Format:
Everyone who signs up will be given a 30 minute time block in the morning session to compete in races in Mario Kart 8. Scores from the set number of races will be recorded, and we will continuous update the current Top 16 in the tournament room and on the Facebook event page. Those who race in the earlier rounds are welcome to hang out for the day and watch more of the competition, or they can follow the Facebook page and return for the Top 16 round if need be. Lunch will be provided around 12 pm, and we tentatively plan to start the Top 16 round approximately 1 pm. (This will depend the on number of entries.) The tournament room will be open to spectators, so feel free to come out and watch the excitement!
