Too Many Cooks! featuring That Food Truck
A food truck (and cart!) revolution has swept through Columbus and we customers are reaping the benefits. The sheer number of options available means that not only can we choose between such diverse dishes as Korean savory pancakes and vegan sausage sandwiches, but that the food trucks go the extra mile to offer us unique items that differentiate them from the competition.
One truck that has done a splendid job of defining their product is That Food Truck. They rely on local ingredients, butcher their own meat, and partner with North Market Spices to make their own secret spice blend called Truck Dust. Their truck fare includes squash fritters, chicken schnitz, spicy carrot chips, and a burger that's been labeled "among the best" by the folks at Street Eats.
On Oct 14th, the owners of That Food Truck will give us some insight into the benefits of butchering their own meat (see: their famous Tomahawk pork chop), the relationships they've built with other local businesses (Eleni-Christina Bakery, North Market Spices, etc), and how they estimate how many pounds of burger meat they'll need for a given day at the Dinin' Hall. As a major bonus, you'll have a chance to sample their delicious fare and tour their truck!
If you've ever been curious about the behind-the-scenes work that goes into making Columbus food trucks great, this is a perfect opportunity to learn more!
Held on the second Sunday of every month, Too Many Cooks! features experts, foodies, restaurateurs, and enthusiasts who talk about their passion for food. The evening starts promptly at 7pm and the $5 admission includes generous food samples. BYOB.
