Manouche N.W. 2016-17 Concert Series
Pearl Django will perform with Nuages, kicking off the Manouche N.W. concert series at the Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship (BUF).
With a performance history spanning more than two decades, Pearl Django endures as one of the most highly regarded Hot Club style groups working today. Although the bands roots are firmly in the music made famous by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, its extensive repertoire includes traditional jazz classics and original compositions. Pearl Djano's lineup includes: Michael Gray, violin; Rick Leppanen, bass; David Lange, accordion; Neil Andersson, guitar; and Tim Lerch, guitar.
Nuages is Bellinghams local modern Gypsy jazz quartet. Led by Michael-Paul Gurulé on soprano saxophone, the band includes Zach Zenovic on guitar, David Campbell on guitar and Sarah Yates on bass.
BUF will sell concessions including local craft beer, with the proceeds going to support the fellowship's Transylvania Pilgrimage in June, 2017.
