LOFTrecital does #CelloShuffle
LOFTrecital could not be more excited to announce the third recital in our #shuffleseason with Twin Cities cellist Scott Lykins in a #CelloShuffle on Saturday, November 12 at 7pm. Continuing our exploration of composers and music who challenge the conventions of classical music, LOFTrecital offers a rare performance of German native and Broadway composer Kurt Weill's cello sonata. Thrown into the shuffle alongside this is the Minnesota premiere of LOFT favorite Greg Kallor's new cello sonata, Undercurrent. A few surprise pieces will complete the set list and provide a thought provoking mash-up of musical works that push classical music's boundaries.
Becuase of the overwhelming success of LOFTrecital, we ask that you reserve a spot for yourself and your friends. For those that would like tp bring something along, we invite you to bring your favorite red wine to share. Come for a fun evening of music, wine and light refreshments. The home recital/party is something most people have not been to, so let me take a moment and explain exactly what it is this evening will entail. Feel free to show up anytime during the "cocktail hour" which starts at 6:30p, grab a drink, say hello, etc, the recital will start at 7pm. Attire is casual, whatever you are most comfortable in.
Transportation: There is street parking and paid lots on all blocks around our building. But, being a Saturday night downtown, be prepared to circle the block more than once. Some streets will be free as it is a "non-event" night. There are also numerous buses that can get you here, as well as the Light Rail (we are .5 miles from the Target Field stop).
