Wee Small is a solo show created and conceived by sara sparrow...a story of insomnia and self: unabashed and ridiculous, alone and free. pulling together work from over ten years of circus performance, this show tells the story of one small hour, of loneliness and joy, reckoning and circumstance.

sara sparrow came to circus through a background as a gymnast, an actor and performer in musical theater, and a classically-trained musician and singer who also holds a degree in visual art. she has a distinctive awkward grace that permeates her solo aerial and acrobatic work. a malleable character actress with a wide array of interests, she is entranced by the collaborative effort of performer and audience, and by the unparalleled possibility of contemporary circus.

sara has performed and created with Levity, the Aerialistas, Ricochet, and the Tallhouse Arts Consortium, and has worked for Teatro ZinZanni, the Friedrichsbau Variete, Teatro Circo Price, and Animate Objects Physical Theater. although she has performed all over the west coast from Seattle to Oakland, and internationally in Japan, Spain, and Germany, she is currently most at home in Olympia, Washington, where she runs Sparrow Studios, a space for learning aerial and circus arts.
