THE SKRIKER by Caryl Churchill
Renowned playwright Caryl Churchill conjures up a mesmerizing world in which we meet The Skriker, a shapeshifting, wish-granting faerie abroad in modernday London, making dark mischief in her pursuit of two teenaged runaways. Language, appearance and reality are as slippery as the devil in a phantasmagoric London haunted by gremlins and faeries. Like the best fairy tales, The Skriker taps into the darker passages of the unconscious, invoking Shakespeare's Midsummer's Night Dream and Hieronymus Bosch. A superb company of Seattle Artists and Performers create a work that is equal parts stunning theatre, evocative dance and jaw-dropping visual art.
