NEWPOLI - Ritmi della Terra

Newpoli carries on a tradition that is so old its hard to date, performing music from Southern Italy laced with influences from the surrounding Mediterranean cultures. Originals are mixed with exciting arrangements of traditional music: the tempo is high, the drama and passion can be heard in every note and you will have a hard time sitting still!

Nun te vutà, their latest recording, features twelve tracks, six originals, sixtraditionals, and more then a dozen handcrafted indigenous instruments played by eight talented musicians. Its an album that deals with contemporary topics with the help of traditional sounds.

About Newpoli:

Newpoli was formed around 2003 by students from Italy that had come to study at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Now, more than 10 years later, they have toured all across the United States and at home in Italy. They have recorded four CDs, have been nominated three times for Best World Music group in Boston and twice for Traditional Music in Italy. Newpoli was also a finalist for their song Sciure darance from their latest CD, Nun te vutà, in the USA Songwriting competition.
