CAST #3: Waiting
CAST (Coming Alive, Scheming Together) is what you get when you mix women + TED-style talks + a variety show with social justice flare + platonic speed-dating + the Holy Spirit's movement.
The theme of CAST #3 is Waiting. The theme of CAST #3 is Waiting. We will explore it from -the personal level of living while in a time of waiting, -the community level of waiting for justice, and -the Church level of helping those who are waiting in foster care.
It will be taking place on the Saturday of Easter weekend, because those who lived through that first Good Friday did not know that the bright hope of Easter was coming. They were disoriented in darkness, waiting for hope to arrive, not knowing what it would look like. If God allowed His Son and Himself to experience the tribulation of waiting, we can be sure we will experience such times as well - and there is great value in that darkness. These are some of the conversations and concepts we'll be exploring together at this three-hour event for women who want to come alive in Christ.
Join us as multiple presenters speak, sing, and perform on this theme, and then engage with us in immersive settings to discuss and scheme further to carry out God's work.
CAST is founded on 1 Corinthians 14:26, 29-33, then adds in Ephesians 2:10 with 1 Peter 4:10, inviting women to come alive in the good works they are created for and that are created specifically for them, and join together in serving the Body and transforming the world.
A portion of ticket proceeds will be donated to a charity related to the theme. The charity for CAST #3 will be Foster Care Initiatives (http://www.fostercareinitiatives.org).
Please avoid scheduling anything after the event so you can attend lunch with other participants! (There's even a Chipotle next door!)
