Celebrating the Persian Tar with Ashkan Ghafouri & Friends
Diaspora Arts Connection is proud to present Bay Area-based Iranian musician, teacher, and researcher Ashkan Ghafouri and his musician friends in a night of music and friendship to celebrate the Persian Tar. Ashkan Ghafouri has spent five years of his life on gathering the Encyclopedia of Tar, an ambitious project which would enable him to introduce this instrument to the world. Ashkan will be accompanied by several of his musician friends who will come out in support of his musical research.

About Ashkan Ghafouri: Ashkan Ghafouri was born in 1967 in Tehran. He studied past and contemporary Tar technique/styles and Persian Radif (classical modal system) from Hooshang Zarif.
