Re-Imagining the Wall Celebration
Join TMA for the Re-Imagining the Wall kick-off celebration and opening of "Memory and Reflection" by Matt Magee!
Featuring entertainment by Paul Hurtado and John Brett from Monument East Veterinary Hospital and Rosemont Pet Clinic.
This project is a platform to celebrate the rich mural tradition, innovative contemporary art practices, and local cultures of Tucson.
On October 3 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., TMA will launch this project with artist Matt Magee installing the first mural. His work, "Memory and Reflection", will feature marks and forms in the paintings that refer to a language of graphemes and phonemes, the most basic written structures that hold the foundation of speech. Memory is selective and runs in basic random sequences akin to the language embedded in "Memory and Reflection".
