Jazz on 93rd Street features Sidra Bell Dance New York with Dennis Bell Jazz NY and Jazz Vocalist Lynette Washington.
Sidra Bell, artistic director and founder of Sidra Bell Dance New York is a Yale grad currently pursuing a Master's Degree in choreography at Purchase Conservatory of Dance. She received extensive training at Dance Theatre of Harlem and the Alvin Ailey School. Sidra Bell Dance New York is in residence at Harlem's Lt. Joeph P. Kennedy Center.
Dennis Bell is a Gold/Platinum award winning producer, pianist, conductor and music educator. He has produced and performed with several artists including Doug E. Fresh, Lenny Kravitz, Celia Cruz and U2.
Lynette Washington, jazz vocalist, was blessed with an extraordinary gift to sing in several languages. She began her career in Russian nightclubs and has sung throughout Europe, Australia, and throughout NYC. She has worked with Aretha Franklin, Peter Gabriel and appeared in U2's "Rattle and Hum," among others. Her most recent solo album, "Smoky Dawn," was released in 2003.
Jazz on 93rd is a benefit concert for the Manhattan School for Children, our very unique public K-8 school (www.manhattanschool.org). We think it will offer a wonderful night out!
