"Oktimberfest 2016" will take place on Saturday, September 24th beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Forest History Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. This community event also serves as a fundraiser for the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving the Greater Itasca Area with a purpose of "joining charitable intentions with community needs".
What is "Oktimberfest"?? Think of Paul Bunyan in Lederhosen and you get the idea! The beautiful setting of the Forest History Center, combined with authentic (and incredible!) German food, Minnesota crafted Octoberfest beers, logging-related games (plus some German standards such as Hammerschlagen), and traditional OomPah music provided by the Elk River German Band, will surely make a memorable evening for all! And by the way - the Boreal Brewers will be providing homebrew samples throughout the evening to warm the hearts of beer snobs and introduce novice tastebuds to the many varieties of quality, home-crafted beer.
