A GUSTO EN AGOSTO

A special evening featuring Juan del Gastor and Concha Vargas, direct from Spain. Joined by singer Kina Mendez and guitarist Keni el Lebrijano.

An icon of Gypsy flamenco dance, Concha Vargas has performed all over Europe, Asia and United States for over 25 years and has worked with such flamenco greats as dancers "El Guito" and Mario Maya, guitarist Pedro Bacan and singers La Macanita and Curro Fernandez. She performed with Antonio "El Pipa" as featured guest artist in both the US and throughout Europe. In recent years she has performed with Andrés Marín in festivals such as Seville's prestigious Bienal del Flamenco.

Juan del Gastor was born in Moron de la Frontera and is a nephew of the legendary guitarist Diego del Gastor. For more than 40 years Juan has been carrying on the family tradition of performing and teaching. He is highly sought after by the peñas of Andalusia, in the casetas of the Feria de Sevilla, during the celebration of the Rocio pilgramage, and frequently appears at Sevilla's Bienal del Arte Flamenco. He has toured all over Spain and Europe and has appeared in festivals and theaters in the USA, Argentina and Japan. Besides his phenomenal guitar playing, Juan is a charismatic singer and dancer with an open heart who transmits a contagious sense of flamenco joy wherever he goes, inspiring all with his arte!
