Permanent Collection
Permanent Collection, written by Thomas Gibbons, is an exciting drama about the changing of the guard--at the venerable Barnes Collection, where the placement of the art on the walls can never be changed. A provocative, sophisticated and deft work, this play examines racial politics and ultimately asks how much space--literally and figuratively--the western world gives to African-American art. What is the cost of failing to view the world through the eyes of another? A perfect play for our venue, which IS an Art Gallery!
