Spitehouse and Night School Present: TERRY / WOOLF / ANXIETY
Spitehouse and Night School are incredibly excited to bring TERRY and WOOLF together for a special communion.
TERRY emerged in 2015 on the ever-brilliant label Upset The Rhythm with a 7" E.P. that blustered with TVPs charm, wimpered wonderfully with Antipodean, Flying Nun-esque melodies and boasted a group dynamic that positively dripped with personality. Following it up with a bullet of a debut album, TERRY HQ is a 25 minute storm of perfect guitar pop infected with a waywardness that refuses to settle. Live, the group are so amped up they bridge the gap between charm and harm, punk and wonk and it's a truly sublime time to be alive, at a Terry concert. TERRY are formed of 4 human beings well known on the underground circuit from bands like DICK DIVER, TOTAL CONTROL et al. but who really cares about all that shit? Let's talk about TERRY.
WOOLF invert all staid Punk forms, turning them inside out, blunting them, stunting them, WOOLF cut up and shut up all the traditions we've come to rely on for crutches. While utilising the conventional rock music tropes - Guitar/Bass/Drums/Vocals - Woolf peel the riffs to absolutely bare essentials, the drums are primitive to the point of several simultaneous heartbeats and in Colette Rosa the four piece have a lightning conductor vocalist ready to give more than she takes. It's a scrappy, essential, warped mess that feels revolutionary in its obstinance to conform and you just shouldn't anyway, right?
ANXIETY are from Glasgow. They are in-between, outside, the farside, the outer side, topside, side-swipe, wipe-clean. How do you remain an outsider when it's so cold? Wet, Dark, your friends but no body else's
