Queer Queens at Kuumbwa Jazz 2016
Comedian Poppy Champlin is bringing her troupe The Queer Queens of Qomedy to the Cruz again! If it works once, do it again. Champlins highly sought after Queer Queens of Qomedy show has been touring for eleven years and The Kuumbwas Jazz Center is her new found home in Santa Cruz. On Sept 21st Poppy and two of her Queens in waiting; Sandra Valls and Mimi Gonzalez will hold court at 7:00 PM.
Champlin is a veteran comic with television credits including LOGO, Showtime, HBO, VH-1, Joan Rivers, Oprah, Comedy Central, and more. Mimi has been on Ellen, The Today Show , Que Loco and has worked for the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. With a Logo Special and Olivia cruises under her belt, Mimi is one hot Tamale. Sandra Valls is a native Texan hailing from Laredo. She has two Showtime Specials: The Latin Divas of Comedy and Pride: The Gay and Lesbian Comedy Slam. Always working Curve Magazine has said she is one of the top badass comics to watch out for. The Queer Queens will be donating some of the proceeds to the local Gay and Lesbian Community Center. This show is guaranteed to be a full night of rip roarin, foot stompin, pain from laughin, fun. So dont miss a minute of it.
