Santa Cruz Pier to Pier Swim

Monterey Bay Swimming Association is hosting a 6 mile swim from Capitola to Santa Cruz on Sunday August 28th, 2016.

WHEN: Sunday August 28th, 7:00 AM Check In
WHERE: Capitola, CA (West of the Capitola Wharf)
COURSE: Start Capitola Beach, swim S 2 miles, swim WNW 3.5 miles (to the Santa Cruz Wharf), swim N .5 miles to Cowell Beach (west of the Santa Cruz Wharf).

THIS IS A DEEP WATER OFF-SHORE SWIM FOR EXPERIENCED COLD WATER MARATHON SWIMMERS.

This swim has 2 cutoffs. You must reach the first turn (2 miles) within 90 minutes. You must reach the last turn (5.5 miles) within 5 hours.

ALL SWIMMERS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN SAFETY PADDLERS. Paddlers must carry a compass and/or GPS. Kayakers must wear a coast guard approved PFD (life vest) at all times.

More information about parking, shuttling cars, kayak drop off, etc. will be available closer to the event.
