(not-your-average) Vintage Bus City History and Brewery Tour (in the West Metro)
Join us on our totally awesome, 1950's GMC ex-city-transit bus. Fully restored and ready to cruise you around for some HISTORY MADE FUN!
Our fabulous tour guide, Teresa McCormick, will lead you on an energetic fun history tour around the west metro/Minnetonka/Wayzata/Excelsior areas, and spill the "dirt" on some history that makes it all the more FUN!
The Minnesota Transportation Museum started its brewery bus tours last year, and have been a huge hit! Ask your friends, bring your parents, but leave the little kids at home!
We'll start out at Excelsior Brewing Company in Excelsior, MN. Come early and explore Excelsior, grab a bite to eat before you get on the bus at the brewery, so you're ready to go exploring with us and sip on some craft beers.
We'll make a couple stops at 2 historic locations; Burwell House & Wayzata Depot. And return back to Excelsior Brewing at the end to sample their beers.
Schedule below:
Look for the bus at 1:00pm outside of Excelsior Brewing Co. (we will be coming back to Excelsior Brewing at the end of the bus tour, to try their beers then. You are welcome to check them out ahead of time, but the tour officially starts OUTSIDE at 1:00pm)
1:00pm - depart
- (bus history tour in-between)
1:30 - arrive at Burwell House
- (bus history tour in-between)
2:30 - arrive at LTD Brewing (45 min stop to grab a beer)
- (bus tour in-between)
3:30 - arrive at Wayzata Depot
- (bus history tour in-between)
4:30 - arrive back at Excelsior Brewing, and stay as long as you'd like.
***There is no food at Excelsior Brewing, but Olives Pizza, which is right next door, will deliver to the brewery, so you can eat either/or lunch and dinner, before or after the brewery tour***

Bus seats 50 people so space is limited.
Since our vintage bus is all original, it does not have modern air conditioning on it. The windows do go up, and there is a nice breeze on it.
Alcohol not included with ticket. Cash bar setup at the breweries.
You will also receive ONE FREE Family pass to our St. Paul Museum, on this tour, good for anytime to come check us out! ($30 value! That's worth it right there!!!)
