- Morale is High ( Since We Gave Up Hope ) -
Friday 29th July - 8pm - Mono Chorlton - Pay what you want/decide/can
Theatrical soothsaying, storytelling through a crystal ball basically what were trying to say is that we saw the future and we have some shit we have to tell you.
Morale is High (Since we gave up Hope) is a performance that seeks to predict what will happen between now and the next general election in 2020. Throughout the show, intertwining narratives explore the affects of popular culture, political policy and inane day-to-day actions on the way a person decides who they will vote for. For example, we follow the much anticipated Kylie Minouge return of 2016, the medias assault on Jeremy Corbyn, and where we as performers think well find ourselves on the run up to 2020. The predictions will be based on previous elections, current events and some silly ideas that weve thrown around (Danny Dyers impending East End influenced Reggae/dub albums is something we genuinely think could happen).
Morale is High is pop and politics smashed together in some space age Hadron-collider for abstract thoughts an ongoing evaluation of political climate.
Powder Keg are a theatre company that mix pop and politics. We make irreverent political performance through telling tall tales to sick beats.
