Aztec Two Step Benefit Concert for Nichols Day Camp
Francis T. Nichols founded the Blue Hill Society for Aid to Children (BHSAC) in 1963 as a non-profit community organization to administer an outdoor education and recreation program for school age children in the Blue Hill Peninsula area to learn to swim, canoe, sail and learn about the natural environment in a rustic camp setting. He also believed that no child should be denied these opportunities due to a lack of ability to pay camp tuition. Now in its 53rd summer, the BHSAC/Nichols Day Camp mission to "instill in our area youth a lifelong passion for outdoor educational and recreational experiences" still reflects Francis Nichols founding intent. Over fifty years old, it is estimated that nearly 4 generations and 12,000 campers and counselors have called Nichols Day Camp their summer home.

Renowned folk-rock duo, Aztec Two-Step will perform a benefit concert for the non-profit, Nichols Day Camp in Blue Hill, ME. The fundraiser is the kick off for their 2016 Annual Fall Appeal which raises funds to support both campers, through tuition assistance, and camp programming. The duo will perform original songs from their 45-year collaboration as well as a sprinkling of their renditions of Everly Brothers and Simon & Garfunkel classics.

Bursting on the scene in 1972 with their critically acclaimed self-titled debut on Elektra Records, Aztec Two-Steps first album and three subsequent albums for RCA Records were staples of progressive FM and college radio, and helped usher the music of the 1960s into the '70s and beyond.  Since then, Rex Fowler and Neal Shulman have spent a lifetime making music together as the folk-rock duo that takes its name from a poem by beat poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti.

Recording and touring non-stop since the early 70s, Rex and Neal have accumulated forty-five years of awards, accolades and TV and radio appearances that include the David Letterman Show, World Café Live, and the King Biscuit Flour Hour, and have graced countless stages including those of Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
