Eros, Embodiment & Gender: Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming Sexualities
Transgender and Gender Non-conforming (TGNC) people are capable of achieving a heightened sense of sexual self-hood far more nuanced and inspiring than average cisgender heteronormative people.. This is due to the monumental task of re-ascribing and redefining sexual, erotic, and romantic orientations and identities. Due to social, legal, and medical advances, TGNC people can pursue congruence through social or medical transition to create a sexually integrated self. These processes leads to a more profound and intimate attunement to self and others. In this 7-hour workshop, we will address:
1. Effects of hormones and surgeries on sexual development and identity 2. Shifting between embodiment and disassociation 3. Re-negotiating of erotic experience(s) and body parts 4. Sexual pleasure and outlets 5. Kink & BDSM 6. Sex work & Pornography 7. Surrogacy 8. Fertility & Family planning 9. Interventions leading TGNC clients to a more profound relationship with their own sexual journey
