Gina Salá Evening of Kirtan in Victoria, BC

On Friday July 24th 7:30pm, at the Church of Truth, Gina Salá offers up a swirling set of kirtan (participatory chant and mantra from a few traditions), song and story with warmth, humor and devotion. The mind rests like a bee in a poppy, and the body unwinds in the swirl of mantra and rhythm. Niel Golden will join Gina on tabla and percussion. Jai Radhe Shyam!

Gina Salá has been chanting since her early childhood ashram years. Her repertoire spans 23 languages and performance credits include Cirque du Soleil, the United Nations, yoga festivals and more. With warmth, humor and devotion, she offers Indian classical singing, sanskrit, stories and sound tantra
in classes, cds, kirtans, and her annual RIver of Sound India Tour, and retreats in Mexico, Maui and other places.
