Our Friday evening will open at 7pm, we will have the privilege of listening to AHMAD AL RASHID talk about his journey to the UK.
WOMEN FOR REFUGEE WOMEN is an incredible organisation based in the uk helping and supporting women going through the Asylum application Process in the UK and empowering them to speak about the injustices and challenges they face. http://www.refugeewomen.co.uk/ Women from the organisation will come to the stage and talk about their work and their experience
Isabel C Rodriguez from Lighthouse Relief organisation will talk about the projects she runs in Lesvos, greece, upcycling extracted materials from Dinghies, life jackets, life belts etc.. into handbags, wallets & more.
The wonderful actress and activist, JULIET STEVENSON will talk to us about her work, her experience in Calais and how she supports the Islington Centre For Refugees and Migrants.
Finally, the stage will welcome BOOM LA TêTE to ROCK away the rest of our Friday night ! Geeettt Booooking !
End of June is Refugee Week in London, we are raising money for the Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants in London. (http://www.islingtoncentre.co.uk/) We have close ties with this charity who is doing remarkable work with asylum seekers in the uk and desperately trying to raise enough funds so that they can open more hours in the Autumn of 2016!
So here we are, arming ourselves with arts & crafts to help them meet their objective! We hope you join in the battle :)
