Geeks After Dark: Lost in Time
Geeks After Dark, Vancouver's only purveyors of nerdy nightlife, are back with a brand-new party convention for everybody who ever just wanted to put on a costume and be awesome for 72 hours. Partnering with Barkerville Historic Town, Geeks After Dark is proud to announce 'Geeks After Dark: Lost In Time', an action-packed party convention for everyone with a little bit of geekery in their soul, and that means YOU'RE INVITED!
Join hosts ranging from The Tenth Doctor (Doctor Who) to Jayne Cobb (Firefly), the Riddler (Batman), to Obi-Wan Kenobi (Star Wars) and of course Sheriff Kirk and Deputy Spock for the party of the (19th) century!
Take the Geeks After Dark time-traveling party bus back in time to Barkerville in 1868 for a relaxing weekend of afternoon teas, stagecoach rides, and gold panning. But things are a little wacky, as fandoms collide and holes are ripped in the space-time continuum; is that a TARDIS in the distance?
Combining Geeks After Dark's trademark theatricality with a cast of dozens of historical interpreters and Barkerville magic, Geeks After Dark: Lost in Time promises to combine events you've never seen before at cons (after dark-historical town-cosplay-capture the flag, anyone?) with screenings, panels, and our trademark mix of costume contests, trivia, burlesque, and epic parties and thousands of dollars worth of prizes from our generous sponsors: Gotham Collectibles, Golden Age Collectables, Gamedeals, and Admiral Snackbar Chocolate and Confectioneries.
Ticket tiers can be broken down as follows:
Ensign Redshirt: A ticket for the Saturday night party by itself. Combining all the fun and frivolity of our (soon to be monthly!) Geeks After Dark events, this is the definite climax of the weekend, with burlesque, costumes contests, trivia, vending from our friends at Admiral Snackbar, and a dance party extending into the wee hours.
Dr. McCoy: A ticket for the convention, without a hotel room or transportation. For those of you driving your motor home from Prince George, or those of you following the gold trail from San Francisco and carrying a tent on your back. This ticket will get you into every convention activity from the Friday night pajama party to the screenings on Sunday morning.
First Officer Spock: This ticket combines the Dr. McCoy ticket with a little more... logic. A Spock pass will get you a (historical!) hotel room, breakfast, and entrance to all convention activities.
Captain Kirk: The Cadillac of passes, this ticket will secure you a space on the Geeks After Dark party bus, complete with games, prizes, hosting by Barkerville's James Douglas (and his fabulous nerd cred) and the Geeks After Dark team. It'll be a drive to remember, through gorgeous British Columbian terrain and, of course, space and time. You'll also get everything that redshirts, Mr. Spock, And Dr. McCoy do.
Lieutenant Uhura: Do you want to share a room with your sweetie (or just a friend)? This is the package for you. All the benefits of the Captain Kirk package, but for two. A shared hotel room, two party bus trips, two breakfasts (per day), two convention passes, and two amazingly fun times.
Guests will be rooming at hotels ranging from an original Barkerville brothel and boarding house to a grand old 1930s hotel and pub. Rooms are first-come, first-serve, so buy your tickets now! Please note, however, that rooms can only sleep two, which must be strictly enforced; most rooms have only a double or queen-sized bed. Anyone caught room stuffing will void their rights to continued stay at their own expense. If you have a friend or partner who you wish to stay with, please include their name with your ticket reservation so we can make sure that you're together.
