The Charleston Library Society wants to provide our members with fun opportunities to relax and maybe even enjoy a drink or two. We have created a series offering one or more events a month that will showcase the Library Society in a different light. There is nothing staid or stodgy at 164 King Street. Your happiness and participation make the Library Society a special oasis in the heart of Charleston.
Summer Series Kick-Off BBQ:
Friday, June 17th

Welcome to Libraritaville! The Library Society is going to the tropics with its first-ever outdoor event. The Summer Series Kick-Off BBQ will be hosted in our parking lot behind the main building. Live music, open bar, and good Southern BBQ will make for a memorable evening. Chris Bellamy, who sings about life on the water and the great outdoors, will provide the entertainment. Inspired by his Southern heritage, his music evokes the feel of salty marshlands, oceans and Everglades. We encourage you to wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt for this Kick-Off event.
Movie Night: Caddyshack & Cocktails
Friday, July 15th
7-9PM
Grab your Bermuda shorts and visors and tie your sweaters around your shoulders because the Charleston Library Society is taking a trip to the Country Club. The Summer Series Movie Nights theme will be Caddyshack & Cocktails. A screening of the 1980 comedy classic Caddyshack will be enhanced by light snacks and a specialty cocktail. Plus, we will have a putting green with $1 puts to work on that swing.
Movie Night: National Lampoon's Vacation 33rd Anniversary

To celebrate the 33rd Anniversary of National Lampoons Vacation we will host another Movie Night with a 3-Rum Punch as the specialty cocktail and have a raffle with $3 tickets. Prizes will include gift memberships, tote bags, and more! Movie Night is the perfect opportunity to bring friends and introduce them to the Library Society. So, come out and enjoy a fun night with fun, friends, snacks and drinks.
Beer and Bingo Night:
Thursday, August 11th
7-9PM
There are two things that everyone can agree to love: beer and bingo. The Library Society will host the fun evening while providing a variety of beer and snacks. This is a call for a great night out. Prizes will be given to winners of the rounds.
