Sherry Glaser's Taking the High Road - One woman show
Sherry Glaser, the star and author of such one woman shows as OH MY GODDESS! And FAMILY SECRETS (The longest running one woman show in Off-Broadway history) presents her latest work, TAKING THE HIGH ROAD Comic Confessions from behind the Cannabis Curtain.
As is Ms. Glasers forte through her writing, transforms the pain and agony of true life into a Two Act solo dramatic comedy. In the first Act Ms. Glaser resurrects three of her beloved characters. Bev, the mother in Family Secrets. Grandma Rose, from Family Secrets and Miguel DeCervantes of Oh My Goddess! In the Second Act, Sherry takes the stage with new material derived from her life as a potwife living behind the Cannabis Curtain in the Emerald Triangle.
Each character has a definite yet surprising relationship to marijuana giving the show a wide range of appeal from the Hip crowd, to patients facing life threatening diseases and anyone struggling with mental health in a world gone mad.
For the last 5 years Ms. Glaser has been the executive director at Love In It Cooperative a medical marijuana dispensary in the Village of Mendocino on the Northern California Coast. The cooperative which is run by Glasers family was raided on March 4th 2014. She and her family were arrested and all their finances and medical marijuana seized. Ms. Glaser was charged with 3 Felonies. Cultivation, Possession and intent to sell. She still has not been formally charged and the dispensary re-opened on April 1st. She remains under investigation.
