About James: James & The Giant Pasty is an award-winning burlesque performer, producer, and teacher based in Toronto, Canada. He likes to put his best face backwards and is well known for his innovative, concept-based brand of burlesque.
He has a schooling list of accomplishments ranging from TV appearances, to awards, sold out productions, and headlining performances at shows, events, and festivals around the world.
He has performed at the Burlesque Hall of Fame and headlined the Edmonton Burlesque festival and the Bagel Expo in Montreal. He has also appeared at dozens of other burlesque and boylesque festivals around the world including the Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, New York, Boston, and Chicago Burlesque Festivals, and the New York and Vienna Boylesque Festivals,
He's won a couple of awards along the way, picking up the Most Beautiful award at the Great Burlesque Exposition in 2011 and the Biggest Slapstick award at the Boylesque Festival Vienna in 2015.
In 2014 he was featured in the television documentary Im A Stripper: Boylesque (LOGO, OutTV) and he scandalized the nation two years before that on Canadas Got Talent.
James loves all types of burlesque, but has a particular fondness for boylesque and just loves encouraging boys to get naked (in a professional way, of course). In 2008, he founded BoylesqueTO, Canada's Premiere All-Male Burlesque Troupe. His 2015 production of Boylesque TO's Oh Manada! at the Edmonton Fringe sold out its 10 day run and was called "vulgar in the best possible way" (Edmonton Journal) and "ridiculous fun stuffed into a sequinned jockstrap" (Edmonton Vue).
He also regularly teaches Boylesque 101 at the Toronto School of Burlesque and takes great pride and joy in bringing dozens of new baby boylesque-ers into the world.
When hes not performing or producing or teaching, he runs his own personal training business under his muggle name and has a voracious love affair with coffee.
