The Shopkeeper is the debut film by singer-songwriter Rain Perry. It explores the collapse of the music business while celebrating Mark Hallman, an unsung hero of music, and the indie spirit of the stellar group of artists who have recorded in his studio in Austin, Texas. In interviews and archival footage, the movie asks the question of the moment: "In an era where anyone can make a record but nobody can make a living, what's going to become of the people who create the music we've loved?"
